Other Characters?: Frisk (Undertale). Apping Nikki Ann-Marie (HuniePop).
Character
Character Name: Lucia Bolido, but she bears a rather striking resemblance to Twilight Sparkle.
Canon: Lucia is an AU version of Twilight Sparkle from a JRPG take on My Little Pony. She also has CRAU from My Little Jamjar from December 2013 to it's ending.
Canon Point: While she's technically just from post-Nightmare Moon in her world (and isn't an Alicorn or equivalent), she's been brought up to speed with the canon up to Friendship Games because of that whole nasty business with Calice.
Type: AU Twilight Sparkle.
Age: Lucia is of late college age (as I assume Twilight Sparkle is), with the equivalent of a BA in Magic and Theology (and Friendship).
History/Key Points: Stop me if you've heard the one about the sun goddess and the moon goddess before, or about a group of six brave heroines proving they were the paragons of Honesty, Loyalty, Generosity, Kindness, Laughter and of Friendship Itself to save that Moon Goddess from her durance vile.
Lucia Bolido was, of course, that paragon of Friendship and Magic. The Wizard of Harmony, champion of the united Principalities of Caelestia, personally tutored by the Princess Appolyta herself, and who personally set out to purge the Diana Artemisia of the evil power of the Nightmare, the Starless Night, who was called Noxia.
Oh, and she was human. From totally not Spain, for that matter.
It's pretty surprising how little else changed, given that. The local Blueblood was a Baron, because all barons are required by Fantasy Law to be assholes, but that and the presence of two adorkable, male members of the Queensguard with blue hair from the beginning of her adventure is about all.
However! At some point in her history, Lucia stepped through a mirror and ended up landing in a land of magical ponies in a blast of rainbows - the game 'My Little Jamjar.' This land of 'Equestria' had a history that totally did not resemble her own world, what are you talking about, up until the point where it came under attack by a being claiming to be a Pony of the Apocalypse - the Pale Pony, who was Death; the Calice. Yet another evil Twilight Sparkle from a bad future, what are you going to do?
She aided the ponies of that world, made new friends, fell in love with one of the local Pinkie Pies, set up a magic shop, and quietly supported the local Bearers and those from other worlds in their own personal quests to rescue the world from the Corruption taking hold of it. Ever since that world opened up to dimensional travel she's gone back and forth between that world and her own.
Until she found the hole to Waverly Bay, and like any good adventurer she leapt in.
Personality: She's essentially the Twilight Sparkle you know and love, although she's a bit more serious in demeanor than the canon one. While her natural tendency is towards introversion and introspection - to the point where she has forgotten to take meals until Spike placed a plate of bread and butter in front of her - she loves to learn. She'll speak (and listen!) with great enthusiasm on the technical aspects of anything while asking relevant questions, and writing down the answers in her personal grimoire.
Like the original Twilight, she's prone to panic attacks - particuarly if she feels like she's going to make herself look unintelligent or disorganized in front of people she respects. She is compulsively organized and neat: she's a planner and a thinker. This doesn't mean she won't do things, but learning to leap even after looking was a challenge for her. Her world's Rainbow Dash, Applejack and ESPECIALLY Pinkie Pie were instrumental in teaching her when to listen to her intuition, go with the flow, and act without conscious thought - lessons that have saved her life when it was in peril before. Still trying to figure out the thaumaturgical underpinning of the Pinkie Sense, though.
Her thinking is logically rigorous and rational, although her common sense suffers a little bit; she is happiest with puzzes she can quantify, deduce, or induce the solutions to. Her majors were, naturally, Evocation - the sudden and violent channeling of elemental magical energies - and Thaumaturgy, the long slow boring mathematical way of doing magic that connects times, spaces and worlds.
Yes, worlds: she's studied interdimensional theory and was planning for her final exam to send and expedition into the Gate of Reflected Worlds, a powerful artifact located in the palace of her world's Crystal Empire that appears to be a great mirror reflecaaaaaaaand the punchline is that it's basically the mirror in Equestria Girls. She grokked other dimensions before she went to MLJJ, and will have no trouble with it (or canon puncture, for that matter) in Waverly Bay.
(CR)AU Information
AU Personality Changes:
Lucia is from a quasi-Middle Ages, cosmopolitan high fantasy world designed around JRPG tropes and sometimes acts and thinks accordingly (sometimes with the words 'I am looking for a group of adventurers to accompany me on a quest.') This will likely amuse the gamers in Cosmo greatly. Naturally, she was the black mage of the group, although she prefers the term 'Evoker.'
Her English is of the Early Modern variety. This doesn't mean that she'll throw around Thee's and Thou's willy-nilly, however; she will reserve that intimate form of address for her closest friends and most trusted mentors. If she uses the thou form in speaking to you, 'tis a Pretty Big Deal.
The Six Virtues have a sort of religious significance in her world, the way that the Seven Holies (and Seven Deadly Sins) do in ours. Lucia likes to think she's smarter than that. She's wrong, and is perhaps more mystical about them than Twilight Sparkle would be.
AU History Changes: The tech level of Equestria in canon was schizo-tech, with modern technology when it suited a punchline and something like the early industrial revolution at other times. Her world? The middle ages, with Renaissance tech when it suits the plot. Lucia will not recognize many common items of technology, though she will be a fast learner.
Other AU Changes: Everyone got introduced to Shining Armor, Cadence, and Flash Sentry early because I'm still salty about A Canterlot Wedding and/or Equestria Girls. The equivalent of Sunset (Aurora Marisol) was the lieutenant of the Big Bad, and their Trixie (PATRICIA TRISMEGUSTOS!!!), along with Snips and Snails, the Recurring Joke Midbosses. This resulted in much less mangling of their canon personality than you'd think, mostly because it's funny.
Gem: Amythest, the gem of magical power and spiritual enlightenment. Specifically, their horn is a spiral-grooved cone of amythest, and they have it even in human form.
Power Considerations:
Her freebie weapon isshooting magic missiles out of her horn - glowing purple Star Bolts. She'll regain her other elemental evocation spells with time and experience. At moderator request, her freebie weapon will instead be a Mage's Staff, and her evocation a regain.
She prefers two forms; pony and human. Her icons closely resemble her human form as I imagine them.
The powers I'd want her to have are:
1: Telekinesis.
2: Mage Sight: the ability to perceive patterns of force, gem tech circuitry, and the tells of power use. She would use it to analyze the underpinnings of magic and their theoretical working. This does mean that she'll be Megamanning/learning new spells as an excuse to learn baroque powers when she gets power unlocks.
3: Line-of-sight Teleportation.
Extra: I am actually working on making this goddamn silly thing in RPGMaker MV. I'm posting it for free online when I'm done.
